Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Brydge is operated by Brydge Sports Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17310348), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@brydgesports.com.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers brydgesports.com and the Brydge mobile app. Some sections describe features of the app that are not available until it launches; they apply from the moment you start using that feature, and not before.
3. What we collect
- Waitlist. The email address you submit on this site. Nothing else.
- Account. Email address, password (stored hashed, never in readable form), and date of birth.
- Profile. Name, username, photo, nationality, position, current club, playing history, and anything else you choose to add. Most of this is visible to other users — that is the point of the product — so treat it as public.
- Content. Videos, images and posts you upload, endorsements you give or receive, and messages you send.
- Payment. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store, Google Play or our payment processor. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and what plan you are on. We never see or store your card number.
- Usage. Basic technical logs — device type, app version, timestamps, errors — used to keep the service working and to investigate abuse.
4. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the service — creating your account, showing your profile to recruiters, delivering messages. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To take payment for subscriptions. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To keep people safe — moderation, investigating reports, and protecting young users. Legal basis: legitimate interests, and our legal obligations where safeguarding is involved.
- To contact you about early access if you joined the waitlist. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do use service providers who process data on our behalf under contract:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Apple, Google and our payment processor — subscription billing.
- AI analysis providers. If you submit a video for AI analysis, that video is sent to a third-party AI provider to produce the report. It is processed to generate your result and is not used to train their models. This applies only once the feature is available and only to videos you choose to submit.
Some providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
6. Users under 18
Brydge exists to get young players seen, so accounts for under-18s are expected — but they are treated differently. Verifiable parental or guardian consent is required before an under-18 account becomes active. A parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or delete their child’s data at any time by emailing us.
Date of birth is stored privately. Other users, including recruiters, see only an age or age group — never the full date. Recruiters must hold a verified account before they can contact a player.
7. How long we keep it
Account and profile data is kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of you closing it, except where we must keep records longer by law — transaction records for tax purposes, and safeguarding reports. Waitlist emails are deleted once the app has launched, or as soon as you ask.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, hand it to another service, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@brydgesports.com and we will respond within one month.
If you think we have got it wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you came to us first.
9. Cookies
This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The detail is on our cookie policy page.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app where the change materially affects you.
